The best coffee gift is the one that gets used every morning. Everything here comes from a New Jersey roaster with cafés in Summit and Westfield, and every coffee is roasted to order.

For the person who has everything

Give coffee that keeps arriving. A Boxwood gift subscription is $90 for 3 months, $180 for 6 months or $360 for 12 months, and every bag is roasted to order. If you would rather let them choose, an online gift card in $10, $25, $50 or $100 works on anything on this website, from coffee to brewers. It is not valid in our cafés.

For the home brewer

The Chemex 6-Cup ($49.50) makes a crisp, clear cup through thick bonded filters and brews up to six cups. The Hario V60 ceramic dripper ($35) pairs with the V60 glass server ($30) for a full pour-over set. The Clever Dripper ($29.99) is as simple as a French press, without the sediment. The AeroPress Go ($49.95) packs into its own cup for travel; the AeroPress XL ($89.95) brews a bigger batch. The Hario Skerton Pro hand grinder ($58.50) grinds everything from espresso to French press on ceramic burrs, and the Hario Cold Brew Bottle ($34.50) makes cold brew in the fridge overnight.

Boxwood Labs is our experimental line: small Colombian microlots built on long, controlled fermentations. Guavabanana ($30) is guava, plum and banana. Purple Rain ($31) is chocolate-covered cherries and raspberry. Future Youth ($28) is strawberry, cacao nib and red apple. Labs bags ship on Mondays and Fridays and are best after about three weeks off roast, so they suit a gift that will be opened later rather than tomorrow.

Can the online gift card be used in your cafés?

No. The online gift card is valid only on our website, for anything sold there. It is not valid in our Summit or Westfield cafés.

Do Labs coffees make good gifts?

Yes, with one note on timing. They are light roasts that need at least ten days off roast and peak at around three weeks, and they ship on Mondays and Fridays. Order a little ahead.
